Cricket Australia has revealed their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 which is set to begin on 23rd October in Abu Dhabi. Many big names like David Warner, Steve Smith, Gleen Maxwell, and Pat Cummins returned to the squad, they missed the T20 series against Bangladesh and West Indies. Steve Smith has recovered from the elbow injury and skipper Aaron Finch is ready to lead the squad in UAE and Oman.
The squad has one surprise call-up in form of John Inglis, who has done well in the domestic circuit, being the highest run-getter in the vitality Blast T20 and thriving in the “Hundred” representing “London Spirits”.
The players who got chances in the series against West Indies haven’t made it to the T20 World Cup squad. The previous series’s players are Alex Carey, Jhye Richardson, Moises Henriques, Ashton Turner, Andrew Tye, Josh Phillipe.
On the contrary, Australia will be traveling to UAE with three reserve players- Dan Christian, Nathan Ellis, and Danial Sams.
Australia will start their T20 World Cup 2021 journey against South Africa in the first game of the Super 12 stage on 23rd October.
