Who Became The ICC Men’s Player Of The Month Of March?
Indian ace fast bowler Bhuvneshwaar Kumar became the ICC Men’s player of the month of March for his outstanding performance against England in T20 and ODIs. In 6 ODIs he bagged 6 wickets with an average of 22.5, including a 3/42 in the 3rd ODI. Kumar grabbed 4 wickets in 5 T20 matches with an excellent economy of 6.38.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was out of international cricket for almost more than a year. But it didn’t seem like that. Bhuvi bowled inswing, outswing, and knuckleballs right on the money to trouble the players. Probably he had the best economy rate in the T20 series (6.38).
The other contenders of ICC Players of the month were Sean Williams of Zimbabwe and Rashid Khan of Afghanistan. Bhuvi beat both of them to get the Player of the month of March award.
Who Won The ICC Women’s Player Of The Month Of March?
South African batsman Lizelle Lee won the ICC Women’s player of the March award for her great run with the bat. Lee scored 288 runs, including an unbeaten 132 in the ODI series against India with an outstanding average of 144. In the 3 match T20 series, she made 90 runs with a strike rate of 128.57. In that series, Africa’s 6 and half years drought of winning an ODI series ended, as they clinched the ODI series by 4-1. Lizelle played a huge role to take it home for Africa. Proteas Women also won the T20 series in India for the first time by 2-1.
The other contenders for the award were India’s Punam Raut and Rajeshwari Gayakwad. But ICC voting committee members chose Lee over them for her exceptional performance in the limited over series.
