Skipper Ajinkya Rahane scored a spectacular hundred on day 2 of the India vs Australia 2nd test at MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) on Sunday, December 27th. He made 104* off 200 deliveries (12th test ton) at the end of day 2, which came off under pressure and the skipper led the team from the front.

Pujara even didn’t have a good day with the bat, scoring only 17 runs. Cummins tried to squeeze India with his tight bowling. India was 67/3 at the end of 24 overs. Rahane made some small partnerships of 49 and 57 with Vihari and Pant respectively. Then stitched a 104 runs partnership with Ravi Jadeja for the 6th wicket and sailed through the rough patches at the end of the last ball. Jadeja imparted 40 runs to the account.

Cummins grabbed the most number of wickets (2/71 in 22 overs) on day 2. Starc and Lyon picked up 1 wicket apiece. The Aussie bowling line up struggled to get wickets despite bowling well and dropping catches.
