Renowned Indian journalist Boria Majumdar to serve defamation notice to Wriddhiman Saha referring to the controversial Saha-journalist saga. He released a video on social media just after the meeting conducted by BCCI to interrogate Wriddhiman Saha about the controversy on Saturday, 5th March. Boria has accused Wriddhiman Saha of doctoring the what’s app chat he shared on social media and getting sympathy regarding his exclusion from the team in February related to the controversy.
Let us understand the entire matter, the incident took place just after Saha’s snub from the Test squad against Sri Lanka. BCCI management conveyed to Wriddhi that they are looking beyond him for the sake of the future of Indian cricket. Rishabh Pant is now drafted in the playing xi as the first-choice wicket-keeper, while young Srikar Bharat is his backup on the national side.
Afterward, a respected journalist asked him for an interview and threatened him to never interview him, and disrespected him as Wriddhi refused the interview. Angry and insulted, Wriddhiaman Saha took social media to expose the so-called journalist but did not reveal his name.
BCCI intervened in the case and assured Wriddhiman Saha of justice and formed a three-member committee comprise of BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla, Treasurer Arun Dhama, and IPL governing council member Prabhtej Bhatia lto investigate the matter. On Saturday, he disclosed everything to the specialized committee. When Wriddhiman was asked about the meeting, he said that “I have informed everything to the BCCI and the BCCI will releaser statement regarding this. I can’t tell you much now”.
BCCI vice president Rajeev Shulka has said that “They will submit the report about the case to BCCI and the reputed organization will take action soon.”
Such an incident in the biggest cricket organization is horrifying. It dictates that nothing is confidential and the players who represent the country with pride might get threats and humiliations at any given time in their career.
