Australian left-arm fast bowler Jason Behrendorff replaced Josh Hazlewood in the Chennai Super Kings squad, as the right-hand quick withdrew from the VIVO IPL 2021 citing too much workload post IPL for Australia. Chennai Super Kings announced the inclusion of the southpaw via Twitter.
Jason Behrendorff has played 11 ODIs and 7 T20Is for Australia so far, picked up 16 & 7 wickets respectively. The last time Behrendorff played in the IPL was in 2019 for Mumbai Indians. He bagged 5 wickets in 5 matches with the best bowling of 2/22.
In the Big Bash League 2020-21 he has taken 16 wickets in the same number of matches with a commendable economy rate of 7.04.
Chennai Super Kings will face Mumbai Indians in the inaugural match of VIVO IPL 2021 at Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on 9th April.
