Along with the fastest 7000 runs, Williamson also broke the record of most number of fifty-plus scores by a New Zealand batsman in tests, which was retained by former captain Stephen Fleming.
Stephen Fleming notched up 7172 runs in 111 tests and had 55 fifty-plus scores. Williamson surpassed him by scoring 56 fifty-plus in the longest format of the game in just 83 matches.
