KKR vs MI IPL 2022 : Pat Cummins Hits Joint Fastest Fifty, KKR Beat Mumbai Indians By 5 Wickets

KKR fast bowler Pat Cummins hits the joint-fastest fifty against Mumbai Indians in just 14 balls at Maharashtra Cricket Stadium, Pune on Wednesday, 6th April. Cummins Smacked Daniel Sams for 35 runs in the 16th over of the game, which is 2nd expensive over in IPL history. Cummins struck 6 sixes and 4 fours in his innings.

Batting first Mumbai Indians set a target of 162 runs, Surya Kumar Yadav amassed 52 runs for Mumbai, while young sensation Tilak Varma contributed with 38 off 27 balls. For KKR, Purple Cap holder Umesh Yadav had the best bowling figure considering the economy, 1/25 in 4 overs. 

To fulfill the aim of chasing 162, KKR did not have a great start as Tymal Mills sent back opener Ajinkya Rahane with the short pitch Delivery in the 4th over.  KKR kept losing wickets at regular intervals, but Venkatesh Iyer (50 off 41 balls) was the only man standing for them until Pat Cummins came in the 14th over. Cummins took only 14 balls to complete his half-century and hammered all the bowlers of MI across the park. Nobody could imagine that the game would be done and dusted in just 2 overs after Cummins’s arrival. This inning became one of the best IPL innings of all time. 

KKR moved to the top position with today’s win, having 6 points in 4 matches.
