Rajkumar Sharma Believes: “A Big Century Is About To Come”

Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma who has seen his journey closely believes that a big century from Virat Kohli is about to come.

The 70-century scorer Virat Kohli hasn’t got a single century since 2019 in any format of the game. The ace batsman has been going through a lean patch in his career, making valuable 40s but this is not what fans are used to of watching. In his last 8 tests, Kohli has surpassed the 50 runs mark thrice only.

In the ongoing series against England, Kohli has amassed 62 runs in 3 innings, with the highest score of 42 at Lord’s. He has been facing issues due to chasing the ball outside off stump. His rival Joe Root has so far scored 386 runs in 4 innings, leading the tally of the highest run-getter in the series.

In an interview with India News, Sharma said- “It is shocking news for me too that Virat Kohli has fallen to the fifth spot. I was expecting that Joe Root would have probably gone ahead of him. I will definitely talk to him”.

“I don’t feel there is any need to motivate him because he is extremely motivated. When I had spoken to him after the last match as well, he was quite excited and was happy that they had won and was not too worried about his runs. When he has such an attitude, a big hundred is about to come, Rajkumar Sharma further added.

India’s next match will begin on 25th August at Headingly, Leeds. It will be interesting to see how Captain Kohli ends his drought of centuries.
