Ranji Trophy To Begin From 5th January

The 2020-21 Ranji Trophy season will begin from 5th January, earlier BCCI decided to start it from 16th November but due to Covid-19 restrictions, the teams didn’t get enough time to be ready for the competition. Now the 38 participating teams have ample amount of time to prepare for the red ball tournament. It will continue till March 20, 2022.

The Board of Control For Cricket in India has informed all the state cricket boards that the white ball tournaments- Vijay Hazare Trophy (50 overs) & Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be carried out before the marquee Ranji Trophy event. 

The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will kickstart on 27th October and the final match will be played on 22nd November. The One Day Vijay Hazare Trophy will be completed between December 1-29.

The domestic season of Indian cricket will end with the U-25 CK Naidu Trophy, last time the age limit was U-23, as many players lost two years due to the Covid-19 outbreak. In between January 2nd to April 2.

BCCI has set a squad limit of 30 people, 20 players, and 10 coaching personals for each state. But they have also been instructed to rope in a physio above the squad limit in case of emergency.
