Star English T20 Batter Dawid Malan Added In The England Test Squad

Star English T20 batter Dawid Malan has been added to the England test squad for the third LV= Insurance test, beginning from 25th August at Leeds. The southpaw last time donned the whites in 2018 during the last India tour of England.

The reason behind the inclusion of Malan is to bring back stability in the top order as England has struggled so far to score runs apart from skipper Joe Root. England has drafted Malan in the place of Dominic Sibley, who has been going through lean patches in his career, managing to score runs at a poor average of 19.99 in his last 10 tests.

The No.1T20 batsman has played only one first-class game this summer for Yorkshire and blasted in it with 199 runs. Malan has shown his class in the limited over cricket to date. But in his first 15 tests, he couldn’t make an impact on his team, averaging 27.84.

Dawid Malan has notched up 28 runs in the sole test match, he has played against India.
