T NATARAJAN REPLACED INJURED UMESH YADAV
T Natarajan replaced Umesh Yadav for the 3rd & 4th Test of Border-Gavaskar trophy on Friday, December 1st January. Umesh Yadav suffered a calf injury on the 3rd day of the 2nd test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground. He has also gone through the scans and was declared ruled out by the medical team of BCCI (Board of Control of Cricket in India).
Umesh Yadav has been sent to NCA (National Cricket Academy) for rehabilitation.
NATARAJAN’S INTERNATIONAL CAREER SO FAR
T Natarajan has performed well in the limited over series against Australia. He was included in India’s T20 squad as a replacement of spinner Varun Chakrabarty. He made his International debut on 2nd December in the 3rd ODI against Australia at Manuka Oval, Canberra, and grabbed 2 wickets. In the T20 series, he bagged 6 wickets in 3 matches.
T Natarajan made his first-class debut for Tamilnadu in 2015. In 20 first-class matches, he has taken 64 wickets with an average of 27.03, including 3 fifers.
Earlier Shardul Thakur was added to India’s squad in place of injured Mohammad Shami, who had fractured his arm off a bouncer by Pat Cummins in the 1st test at Adelaide. It will be interesting to see if Nataraja gets to play a match.
