Team India announced playing XI against Australia
Team India announced playing XI against Australia for the 2nd boxing day test at MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) starting from 26th December.
Skipper Ajinkya Rahane has made four changes to the team. Shubman gill to make his Test debut tomorrow replacing Virat Kohli in the team as the skipper is on paternity leave. Rishabh Pant has replaced Wriddhiman Saha in the XI and Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj is also set to make his Test debut tomorrow. Siraj will play in the place of injured Mohammad Shami. Both Gill and Siraj have got big shoes to fill, taking the place of two main players on the Indian side. Jadeja has made a comeback after recovering from injury probably superseded out of form opener Prithvi Shaw.
Shubman Gill 1st class career
Shubman Gill has been a promising player so far, notching up 2133 runs in 21 first-class games with an average of 73.5. Not to forget he scored 108 runs in the second practice game. Shubman performs consistently for his home side Punjab.
Mohammad Siraj 1st class career
Mohammad Siraj has also had a pretty impressive record in first-class cricket till now. He has so far taken 147 wickets in 36 matches with an outstanding average of 23. He has turned out to be a star performer for his home team Hyderabad.
Rishabh Pant making a comeback
Rishabh Pant had a golden series with the bat last time India traveled to Australia. He made 350 runs in 4 test matches with a top score of 159. He also scored a hundred in the second practice game against Australia. It’s a perfect moment for Pant to cement his place in the test side in the absence of Virat and take responsibility because India has to play like a team in order to win matches further. Rishabh is the only Indian keeper-batsman to score a test hundred in Australia.
