“This is not your backyard”- Kohli And Anderson’s Verbal Spat Caught On Stump Mike At Lord’s

When Anderson was batting on day 3, he had a fight as Bumrah bowled few nasty bouncers to the veteran fast bowler. According to the stump mike, Kohli was telling Anderson- “You are swearing at me? Like you did to Bumrah. This is not your backyard.” conversely, Anderson’s voice was inaudible.

In the 2nd innings of the test match at Lord’s, India lost 2 quick wickets in the pursuit of giving a good lead for England to chase. Kohli also fell cheaply, trying to drive a ball outside off stump by Sam Curran. Thanks to the 100 runs partnership of Cheteswar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane for the 4th wicket to rescue India from a drastic situation. Right now, India is batting on 181/6 in 82 overs after the conclusion of day 4.

Reacting to this incident Anderson’s fellow bowling partner Stuart Broad said on Twitter- “The Lord’s honors board suggests it is as close to Jimmy’s backyard as Jimmy’s actual backyard. Love the fire but that language will have him in trouble”.
