VIRAT KOHLI AND RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN GOT NOMINATED FOR ICC MEN PLAYER OF THE DECADE
Indian skipper Virat Kohli and spin wizard Ravichandran Ashwin have been nominated for ICC Men Player of the decade by ICC, while Virat Kohli has been recommended for all five categories for his great performance in the past 10 years.
A total of seven players has been nominated for the illustrious ICC Men Player of the decade award – Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin (India), Joe Root (England), Kane Williamson (New Zealand), Steve Smith (Australia), AB DE Villers (South Africa), Kumar Sangakkara( Sri Lanka). Only from India, two players ( R Ashwin & Virat Kohli) have been nominated.

Former World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni, ferocious opening batsman Rohit Sharma, Run Machine Virat Kohli, MR.360 AB DE Villers, Lasith Malinga ( Sri Lanka), Mitchell Starc (Australia), and Kumar Sangakkara of Lanka are the contenders of ICC Men ODI player of the decade.
The nominations of the ICC Men T20 player of the year award are Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Imran Tahir (South Africa), Aaron Finch (Australia), Chris Gayle (West Indies), and Lasith Malinga ( Sri Lanka).
Virat Kohli has also found his name in the nominations of ICC Men Test player of the decade for his great run in tests in all conditions in the past decade.

The only captain with all three ICC trophies MS Dhoni has been recommended along with Virat Kohli for the ICC Spirit of Cricket award of the decade by ICC.
Virat is the only cricketer who has been nominated for all five categories. Virat has scored 70 centuries in International cricket so far and he is only behind Australian legend Ricky Ponting (seventy one100s) and the great Sachin Tendulkar ( hundred 100s) to break their records.
In the past decade, Virat has notched up 7000 runs in test cricket, in ODI format Virat has amassed 11000 runs and 2600 runs in T20s. He is the only batsman in the world who has made runs with the average 0f above 50 across all formats.
In terms of runs, Virat Kohli is the third in the world on the list of most run-getters with 21444 runs. Ricky Ponting is the second on the list (27483 runs) and the greatest ever Sachin Tendulkar still tops the list with 34357 runs, although he left International cricket seven years ago in 2013.
