Why Virat Kohli’s T20 Ranking is Going Down?

Virat Kohli is one of the best players the world has ever seen. He has been playing for India since 2008, he is considered the best limited over batsman in the world currently & his stats speak for himself.  Virat Kohli made his T20 debut in 2010 against Zimbabwe at Harare, he scored unbeaten 26 runs off 21 balls with a strike rate of 123.80. So far Virat Kohli has played 81 T20 international matches, where he has summed up 2794 runs with a jaw-dropping average of 50.8, which is probably the highest batting average by an individual in T20 international cricket. Virat Kohli’s highest score in T20 is 94 off 50 balls which was brought up against West Indies in 2019 in Dehradun. Virat Kohli’s Rise in T20 International

Virat Kohli has always been a consistent performer for India at no 3 positions. When he started playing T20, he was not an aggressive player as the stereotype of T20 cricket. But since the beginning, Virat Kohli has emphasized his batting skills and played proper cricketing shots. Virat Kohli knows how to fabricate an innings & accelerate when it is needed. He is very good at calculating runs during a match that has made him one of the best chases in the history of cricket. He has been given the name ‘Chase master’ & ‘MR Consistent”. Because of VIRAT’s match-winning performance he has always been on the top of cricket news. Initially, his batting average was less around 35 but later he has enhanced it by playing exceptionally well in the T20s.

Virat Kohli’s Ranking Goes Down

Virat Kohli has always remained in the ICC T20 ranking in the top ten positions since 2014. Virat Kohli was in the 2nd position in ICC T20 ranking after the 2014 WORLD CUP after his great run in the series. His rigorous hard work throughout the year gained him the no 1 spot in the ICC T20 ranking in 2015. He kept his no 1 RANKING even in 2016 as he performed really well in the 2016 T20 WORLD CUP. In 2017 Virat Kohli slipped to the 3rd spot as he missed the series against Sri Lanka. From 2018 to 2020 INDIA has played fewer T20 matches than other teams that’s why Virat Kohli’s T20 ranking has gone down. India has played more & more ODI, TEST matches including the 2019 CRICKET WORLD CUP & ICC TEST CHAMPIONSHIP, which is still going on.
