YUVRAJ SINGH NAMED FOR SYED MUSHTAQ ALI TROPHY PROBABLES IN PUNJAB 30’S SQUAD

Yuvraj Singh named for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy probables in Punjab 30’s squad. Yuvraj Singh has been practicing hard for the last few days with his home team Punjab at Mohali Cricket Stadium (IS Bindra Stadium). Yuvraj Singh is keen to make a comeback for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. He batted for approximately 45 minutes in the nets and was timing the ball really well. Thirty Punjab cricketers are set to attend a preliminary camp in Ludhiana from 18th December.

Yuvraj Singh named for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy probables. Although, his comeback in the domestic circuit is still vague. He is yet to get assent from BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). Yuvraj Singh is coming out of retirement because of the request of Punjab Cricket Association secretary Puneet Bali. 

When did Yuvraj retire from all forms of cricket?

Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from International and competitive in June 2019. Moreover, he mentioned playing foreign Franchise League. In 2019 Yuvraj played for Toronto Nationals in Global T20 League Canada. He scored 153 runs in 5 matches with the highest score of 51. He also participated in Abu Dhabi T10 League, representing Maratha Arabians. There he made runs with a strike rate of 169.23 in 4 innings. 

BCCI’s protocol says no active Indian players are permitted to play in any foreign league. So a concern erupts if he will get approval from BCCI.

The southpaw played his last international match against West Indies in 2017, scoring 39 runs. In his last IPL (2019) he played for Mumbai Indians. He notched up 98 runs in 4 matches.

Indian speedster S Sreesanth named on the list of Syed Mushtaq Ali probables

S Sreesanth is also ready to make a comeback in competitive cricket. He was banned due to being accused of match-fixing in the 2013 IPL. After 7 years Sreesanth would play any domestic tournament powered by BCCI. Sreesanth has been added to the probable list of Kerala for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, which will commence on 10th January 2021. 

Sreesanth’s ban ended on September 13. Sreesanth has had a good career in International cricket. He has taken 87 wickets in 27 matches in the test, 75 wickets in 53 matches in ODIs and 7 wickets in 10 matches in T20s. In IPL Sreesanth had 40 scalps in 44 matches. He was also a member of the 2007 T20 World cup and 2011 Cricket World cup winning team. It would be great to see him play in the upcoming competitive matches.
