The Selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar has announced Shubman Gill as the new ODI captain on 4th October for the upcoming Australia tour, starting from 19th October in Perth which means Rohit Sharma's illustrious captaincy career came to end. 

The 38 year old led India in 56 games and won 42 out of it. His excellent run includes unbeaten run till the final of 2023 World Cup and also a clean run in the Champions Trophy 2025, lifting the trophy in the finals against New Zealand in Dubai. His win percentage in the One Day Internationals was a staggering 75%.
