Mumbai opener Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved the historic feat of second fastest 3000 runs in international cricket for India in just 71 innings, surpassing former Indian great Sourav Ganguly who reached the landmark in 74 innings. Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar owns the record for touching the milestone in a mere 69 innings.
The Southpaw slammed a blistering 173* off 253 balls which includes 22 boundaries in the first day of the 2nd test against West Indies in Delhi on 10th October. It was his seventh ton in the format which came in 48th innings. Jaiswal's smooth run in international cricket has made his reputation as one of the best all format players currently.
