Pakistani ace batsman Babar Azam is the fastest batsman to score 2000 T20I runs. He reached the milestone against Zimbabwe on 25th April in the 3rd T20, where he made 52 off 46 deliveries. He smacked 4 fours in his knock. Babar only took 52 innings to surpass the mark and break the record of Virat Kohli.
The record was held by Indian skipper Virat Kohli for more than 2 and a half years. Virat made 2000 T20I runs in 56 innings. Babar has also become the 11th overall and 3rd Pakistani batsman to amass 2000 runs after Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik.
Babar has scored 2035 runs in 54 T20 matches so far with an average of 47.3. Currently, he is at the 2nd spot on the ICC T20 ranking with a rating of 844. He may come to the top position any time soon.
