IPL 2021:Scott Kugglejin has replaced Australian seamer Kane Richardson in the RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) squad for the rest of the IPL 2021. Kugglejin was the part of Mumbai Indians unit as a reserve player and was following the protocols of Bio-bubble.
On 26th April Kane Richardson along with Adam Zampa withdrew from IPL 2021 amid the rising cases in India of the second wave of Covid-19. They took the decision of returning home as Covid-19 cases are increasing in Australia also. The Australian government may stop international travel any time soon, so they want to be stuck in the country. Kane played only one match this season against Rajasthan Royals and grabbed one wicket.
Kiwi speedster Scott Kugglejin has previously played in IPL 2019 for Chennai Super Kings as he came in place of Lungi Ngidi. He has played a couple of matches and bagged as many wickets.
For New Zealand Scott has played 2 ODIs and 16 T20s, taken 5 and 16 wickets respectively. The paceman bowls at 140 km/hr average speed. RCB is currently at the 3rd spot and has lost only 1 match. It will be interesting to see how they rope in their new addition in the upcoming matches.
