Best Batting Strike Rate In IPL-Batting in T20 cricket has been all about keeping your strike rate high throughout every match. Because if a batsman bats at a higher strike rate, it makes a huge difference in the total score or makes the task easy for other batsmen during chasing a target. There are very few players who can bat at a higher strike rate than 140. In the IPL (Indian Premier League) there are some players who have been able to do so. The IPL management has also inducted an award for the players with the best strike rate in every match.  Let’s have a look at the players with the best strike rate in the IPL history. 

Andre Russell-Best Batting Strike Rate In IPL

Current KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) all-rounder Andre Russell has the best strike rate in the history of IPL. The all-rounder from Jamaica has scored 1562 runs in 64 innings with a strike rate of 179.12. His batting average is 28.92. Russell is considered one of the best strikers of the most popular T20 league. He has won many matches single-handedly with his power hitting.

Sunil Narine 

Caribbean all-rounder Sunil Narine has the 2nd best strike rate in the IPL history. The mystery spinner cum power hitter has amassed 892 runs in 66 innings at a strike rate of 164.27. Narine earlier used to play as a bowler but later in 2016, he started to open the innings for KKR and demonstrated to the world his hard-hitting. 

Nicholas Pooran

West Indian middle-order batsman Nicholas Pooran has the 3rd best strike rate in the IPL history. The Punjab kings batsman has made 530 runs in 23 innings at a strike rate of 162.57. He has scored with an average of 27.89. The youngster has impressed with his big six-hitting abilities and acrobatic fielding. 

Chris Morris

The all-rounder from South Africa, Chris Morris has the 4th best strike rate in the Indian Premier League. Morris has played for various franchises like Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore but currently, he plays for Rajasthan Royals. In 46 innings he has amassed 586 runs at a strike rate of 158.76. Morris can hit like a monster, recently against Delhi Capitals he won the match for his team by whacking 36 off 18 balls. From a losing position, Rajasthan had a victory over Delhi. 

Hardik Pandya

Indian and Mumbai Indian’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya has the 5th highest strike rate in IPL. Pandya is known for slogging in the cricket fraternity. In 77 innings for Mumbai Indians, he has scored 1384 runs at a strike rate of 157.45. He is a very good player of spin if any team bowls spin in the death overs, then he has got the ability to make the fielders, the spectators. 

Moeen Ali

English all-rounder Moeen Ali has the 6th best strike rate in the IPL history. 

The all-rounder from Worcestershire has amassed 391 runs in 19 innings at a superb strike-rate of 156.40. His great striking and spin bowling helped him to get a team in the world’s most lucrative league. 

Virender Sehwag

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has the 7th highest strike rate in the Indian Premier League. Sehwag has played for Delhi from 2008-2013. Afterward, he moved to Punjab Kings and played till 2015. Sehwag has made 2728 runs in 104 innings at a strike rate of 155.44. Sehwag was a player whose motto was to hit each and every ball for a boundary regardless of formats. This made him unique from others in world cricket. 

Glenn Maxwell

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has the 8th highest strike rate in IPL. The swashbuckling batsman has notched up 1681 runs in 82 innings at a strike rate of 154.07. Maxwell is the kinda player every team wants to have in their team. He is good at every aspect of the game. He strikes like a giant in the T20 format. 

AB De Villers

South African batsman AB De Villers has the 9th best strike rate in the IPL history. DE Villers is a once-in-a-generation player. He is probably the best power hitter in cricket history. AB is not easy to deceive for bowlers. He is the player who brought innovation in batting and proved that a batsman can play shots in all the corners of the ground. AB has amassed 4974 runs in 159 matches at an incredible strike rate of 152.67. 

Rishabh Pant

Current Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has the 10th best strike rate in IPL. Rishabh is someone who has made his name in international cricket in a very short span of time. Pant has emerged as a power hitter, who deals with sixes with every category of bowlers. There are very few batsmen, who can smash a fast bowler for sixes and Pant is one of them. Pant has notched 2160 runs in 71 innings at a strike rate of 151.26 for Delhi Capitals. Pant is also the captaining Delhi Capitals in 2021 IPL.
