Jim Laker
Jim Laker dominates the chart of best bowling figures in the test. Laker is the first bowler in the world to take 10 wickets in an innings of a test. Representing England from 1948 to 1959, Jim was a part of the 46 test matches. Jim’s best bowling figure 10/53 came against their arch-rival Australia in the 1956 Ashes in Manchester. The entire world was stunned by seeing the bowler taking all wickets for the maiden time.
Anil Kumble
The fourth-highest wicket-taker in the test, Anil Kumble gets 2nd place in terms of having the best bowling figure in the test. It was a test match in Firoz Shah Kotla, lately known as Arun Jaitley stadium in 1999, India was facing their neighbor Pakistan, Kumble alone rattled the Pakistani players with his impeccable leg-spin, claiming 10 wickets for 74 runs. Ajaz Patel
Current Blackcaps left-arm spinner, Ajaz Patel registered the 3rd best bowling figure in the history of test cricket in 2021 against the host India. After drawing the test match in Kanpur, New Zealand fared India in Mumbai at the Wankhede stadium for the decider test match, in the first innings, India got bundled for 325 runs, and Ajaz ripped through the Indian batting lineup, grabbing all ten solely. Although New Zealand lost the match for the poor batting, the whole universe would remember this performance forever.
George Lohmann
Former English medium-fast bowler, George Lohmann has secured 4th place in the matter of taking the best bowling figure. Lohmann is the first bowler in the globe to scalp 9 wickets in an innings of a test match. Lohmann returned with 9 for 28 runs against South Africa in 1896 in Johannesburg.
Jim Laker
English off-spinner has again made it to the list, as he bagged 9 wickets conceding 35 runs against Australia in Manchester. Laker took the 9-wicket haul in the same match, where he created a world record of claiming 10 wickets in an inning.
