Every team wants to make an impact and create glory in international cricket. No team in the world comes with the mindset of playing awful cricket. However, it is the excellence and skills of a team that makes their counterpart completely numb and clueless sometimes in a match. ODI cricket has a prolonged history. England has the highest score in ODIs (498/4), and the 2nd & 3rd highest ODI scores also belong to them. In today’s listicle, we will look at the tally of the lowest ODI score by a team.

Zimbabwe (35)
Zimbabwe holds the embarrassing record of the lowest ODI score by a team. It occurred in the 3rd ODI of Sri Lanka’s tour of Zimbabwe in 2004 in Harare. The visitors bundled the hosts for just 35 runs in 18 overs. Srilanka’s Chaminda Vaas wreaked havoc and bagged 4 wickets in the match.
USA (35)
The United States of America comes in 2nd position on the list of lowest ODI score by a team. Nepal’s exceptional bowling forced the USA to register a shameful score of 35 in 2020 in Kirtipur. Nepal’s star leggie Sandeep Lamichhane’s 6 for 16 sent the USA team into the pavilion in just 12 overs.
Canada (36)
Canada has the bizarre record of 3rd lowest score in ODI which they created in the 2003 World Cup in Paarl against Sri Lanka. The Mighty Sri Lankan team bowled Canada out for 36 runs in 18.4 overs. Prabath Nissanka’s 4 wickets and Chaminda Vaas’s 3 wickets dismantled the Canadian batting lineup completely.
Zimbabwe (38)
One of the average sides in ODI cricket, Zimbabwe again finds itself in 4th place in terms of the lowest ODI score by a team with 38 runs against Sri Lanka in Colombo in 2001. Chaminda Vaas took 8 wickets for 19 runs in this match which is the best bowling figure in ODIs.
Sri Lanka (43)
A team who would hate to be here, Sri Lanka got the 5th spot on the lowest ODI score by a team tally. Sri Lanka set this humiliating record when South Africa bowled them out for 43 runs in Paarl in 2012. Morne Morkel got under the skin of Lankan batters and bagged 4 wickets in the match.
