Mohammed Shami ruled out the remaining matches of the Test series against Australia

Indian star Mohammed Shami ruled out of the remaining matches of the Test series against Australia on Saturday, December 20th after sustaining an injury on the right arm off a short ball by Pat Cummins at Adelaide Oval.

Mohammed Shami is a very important bowler especially in test cricket for India. Since his debut, he has taken 180 wickets in 50 matches. He bowled exceptionally In the last tour of Australia also, picking up 16 wickets in 4 matches. So India is definitely gonna miss Shami because apart from him and Umesh Yadav India has got only inexperienced bowlers like Mohammad Siraj and Navdeep Saini, who have not made their debut in the test yet. Although it will be interesting to see who will be the replacement of Mohammad Shami.

BCCI has told Sports Tak in an interview “Mohammad Shami has a fracture and the chances of him taking part in the remaining three matches are next to Nil”.

The 1983 World cup winner Gavaskar has opined “India should call Ishant Sharma up for the remaining matches because in Shami’s absence Sharma is the only one bowler who can replace him.”

During the IPL 2020, he suffered a side injury and was rehabbing in NCA (National Cricket Academy) and has recovered also probably but he was ruled out of the Australia series. The veteran fast bowler has played 97 test matches and 297 wickets. He has performed well in every Australia tour he has had so far. He has 31 scalps in 14 test matches in Australia.

After Mohammed Shami ruled out, Chances are Mohammed Siraj might play the boxing day test match at Melbourne as he has one well in practice matches.
