Nathan Astle has Most Ducks In ODI World Cup History

Nathan Astle

Former Kiwi opener Nathan Astle, unfortunately, bagged the most ducks in the ODI World Cup history. Astle represented the Blackcaps in 3 editions of the World Cup from 1996 to 2003 and amassed 403 runs in 22 games at a poor average of 20.14. His numbers exhibit his poor run in the main event and getting 5 ducks elaborates on his struggle with batting to win the game for New Zealand.

Ijaz Ahmed

Before the inception of Inzamam-Ul-Haq in Pakistan cricket, Ijaz Ahmed boasted the No.3 position for a long time and occupies the 2nd spot on the bizarre list of most ducks in the ODI World Cup history. Despite having a decent average in the One Day Internationals of over 32, Ijaz had a dismal show in the marquee World Cup, making only 516 runs at an underwhelming average of 23,45 which included 5 zeros.

William MacCallan

Ex-Irish all-rounder William MacCallan holds the embarrassing record for the 3rd most ducks in the ODI World Cup history. He featured only in the 2007 World Cup for Ireland and amassed 33 runs in 9 matches while getting out for a duck 4 times. On the contrary, his handy off-spin helped him to grab 10 scalps for Ireland.

Darren Bravo

Darren Bravo is one of the top-order batters who West Indies tried for years to reduce the pressure of lower-order batsmen but he performed below average. Being a part of the Men in Maroon in 2011, 2015, and 2019 WC, bowlers dismissed Bravo 4 times on zero, which is the 4th most ducks in World Cup history. With the willow, the Southpaw made 207 runs in 12 matches.
