The current head coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid gets the 3rd spot in terms of getting the most ODI runs in a calendar year with 1761 runs in 43 matches in 1999. Despite being tagged as a test cricketer, Dravid displayed an excellent piece of batting that year, averaging 46.34. The gentleman veteran even was the highest run scorer in the 1999 World Cup, aggregating 461 runs in 8 matches. Dravid surpassed the 100 runs mark 6 times in his golden year.

Hayden batted tremendously in the 2007 World Cup and ended as the highest run-scorer with 659 runs in 10 innings. Hayden’s 3 out of 5 centuries in ODI came in the World Cup itself.
