Sourav Ganguly Suffer a Heart Attack – On 2nd January 2021 during working out at his Behala house former Indian captain and current president of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) felt severe chest pain and he was immediately sent to the Woodland Hospital. After the check-up, doctors found blockages in the right coronary arteries. On the same day, Ganguly underwent angioplasty to open the blockage of the right coronary arteries. Sourav was discharged from the Woodland hospital after 4 days on 5th January. 

The most popular cardiologist of India, Devi Shetty led the medical team of thirteen members and successfully carried out the surgery. After the completion of Angioplasty, he was feeling good and had no pain in the chest. 

Dr. Devi Shetty said “ he is feeling fine now and has no chest pain. But it will be good to have another angioplasty on the other coronary arteries. He has both options to cure it with medicine or get the surgery done. But it’s up to him to take a call. He has 2 weeks of time to decide.”

Dr.Shetty more said-” he can do exercise, run in a marathon, play cricket and chase his every dream like a normal person. His heart is like a 20 years old guy.”

But on the morning of 27th January Ganguly again complaint about chest pain and his family took him to the Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals Kolkata without wasting any time. Ganguly underwent another angioplasty on 28th January led by the renowned cardiologist, Dr.Devi Shetty. After being fit Ganguly got discharged on the 31st. 

Was There Any Political Pressure Behind Ganguly’s Heart Attack?

Earlier there were rumors that Sourav Ganguly is joining BJP. Many people think that because of political pressure Ganguly suffered mild heart attacks. But this was not the reason exactly. Dr.Devi Shetty, who completed the surgery of Ganguly said-” it doesn’t matter how fit you are unless you go through a preventive check-up once in a year or once in two years, none up us can escape from this issue.” which clearly means that no matter how strict and disciplined ur lifestyle is if health check-ups are not done once in a year or two years, one may suffer cardiac arrest any time. 

Sourav Ganguly’s Diet Before Ganguly Suffer a Heart Attack

Once in an interview, Ganguly revealed that he maintains a diet for 6 days a week and one day he likes to have cheat meals like Biriyani, Jalebi, and Samosa. He has low carbs and high proteins in his diet. He doesn’t consume fats and high carbs at all. While having various fruits and nuts keeps him proactive and makes him robust.
