Babar Azam Became 2nd Batter To Score 10 T20 Centuries Just after Gayle in the history of T20 cricket
Current Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam became only the 2nd batter to score 10 centuries in T20 cricket history. Babar’s 10th ton came against Galle Titans for Colombo Strikers in the 2023 Lanka Premier League on Monday 7th August, making a scintillating 104 off 59 balls. His classy innings consisted of eight fours and 5 maximums.
The ace batsman from Lahore has 3 centuries in international cricket, 2 hundred in Vitality Blast for Somerset, and the same number of hundred in the National T20 Cup (Pakistan). In Pakistan Super League too, he slammed a hundred for Peshawar Zalmi in 2023. However, his best score of 122 off 59 balls emerged against South Africa in Centurion in 2021.
Babar’s 10th T20 century was his first in the Lanka Premier League and today he became the only 4th player to slam a ton in LPL history. His gutsy knock helped Colombo to chase down 189 by 7 wickets at Pallekelle Stadium
Caribbean Star who is often referred to as the “Universal Boss”, Chris Gayle is only ahead of Babar in hammering the most centuries in T20 with 22 centuries in 463 games.
