Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has appointed Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori as their head coach, aiming to reverse a disappointing IPL 2023 where the team finished at the bottom of the points table. Sunrisers Hyderabad ended the season in the tenth position with four wins and ten losses. Daniel Vettori has replaced Brian Lara as head coach.
The Hyderabad-based franchise appointed Lara as the head coach before the start of the 2023 IPL season, and he assumed leadership of the team following the departure of former head coach Tom Moody.
Throughout his IPL career, Vettori represented Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) before eventually retiring from the tournament. Vettori previously took on the role of head coach for Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2014 to 2018 and recently occupied the position of assistant coach for the Australia men’s team.
After experiencing a series of disappointing seasons, SRH is seeking a new beginning under Vettori’s guidance.
