BCCI Disclosed Release of Tender To Own And Operate An IPL Team

The BCCI disclosed the release of tender to own and operate an IPL team on Tuesday, 31st August. 

The IPL Governing committee has announced the procedure to own and operate one of the two new IPL teams, which will take part from the 2022 IPL season with the help of a tender process. The tender document is all set to roll out within 24 hours for the genuine bidders to apply. 

There will be an Invitation To Tender (ITT),  which comprises all the terms and conditions related to the process for submission of bids, Dos & Don’ts for the new teams, eligibility of the institution. The bidders have to pay a non-refundable amount of INR 10 lakhs, including goods and service taxes to get the Invitation of Tender. The ITT will be available to purchase till 5th October 2021.

The interested organizations are requested to send a mail to ittipl2021@bcci.tv to get more details about the ITT. The subject of the email should be-”ITT for the Right to Own and Operate One of Two Proposed New IPL Teams”. The willing parties are required to but the ITT in order to bit and they have to match the bidding criteria. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has clearly mentioned that no individual person is eligible to place a bid. 

There are rumors that Adani Group and RPG Sanjiv Goenka, who was the owner of Rising Pune Supergiants might be ahead in the race of owning a franchise.
