Bowling well in the IPL is one of the most difficult things to do. Because wickets in IPL are spin bowling friendly, mostly flat and dead wickets. Where fast bowlers have to be versatile and spinners should be fearless in order to get wickets. Still, there are some bowlers who have thrived cozily because of their wit and skills in the Indian Premier League. Let’s have a look at the players with the best bowling figure in IPL.

Alzarri joseph
West Indian pace bowler Alzarri Joseph holds the record of having the best bowling figure in the IPL, he bagged 6/12 on his debut for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019. Mumbai managed to score 136 runs only but Alzarri’s utmost effort restricted Hyderabad to 96 runs. But unfortunately, Joseph was not seen in the IPL cricket after that season.
Sohail Tanvir
Pakistani left-arm swing bowler Sohail Tanvir gets the 2nd spot in terms of registering the best bowling figure. His bowling figure of 6 for 14 came against Chennai Super Kings in the 2008 IPL. No wonder Tanvir won the Purple Cap in the inaugural season, grabbing 22 wickets in 11 matches. Which was important in holding the first title for Rajasthan Royals.
Adam Zampa
Adam Zampa has also made it to the list by scalping 6 wickets conceding 19 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad, playing for Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016. Zampa is the only spinner to take a 6 wicket haul in IPL. Despite his vicious bowling, RPS couldn’t win the match as SRH went past the target of 134 runs. The Aussie leggie only conceded 4.75 runs per over.
Anil Kumble
The highest wicket-taker for India across all formats, Anil Kumble has returned with the 4th best bowling figure in the Indian Premier League. In 2009, Kumble bowled the most economical spell in IPL history, 5 for 5 in 3.1 overs against Rajasthan Royals. His deadly bowling compelled RR to set a bizarre record in IPL, the lowest total (58) in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Ishant Sharma
This is surprising but Ishant Sharma also has a few admirable performances in IPL, one of that got him 5th place on the honorable list of having the best bowling figure in IPL. Sharma returned with 5/12 in 3 overs against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011. Sharma is someone who gets wickets emphasizing good length. KTK got bundled out for 74 in pursuit of 130 and Sharma earned the MoM award in the match.
