One of the few China-man bowlers to play international cricket, Kuldeep Yadav became the fastest Indian bowler to take 50 T20I wickets in the 3rd T20 against West Indies in Guyana on Tuesday.
Kuldeep took only 30 matches to reach the monumental feat. Before this match, Kuldeep had 47 wickets in his name and he was benched for the 2nd T20 game of the tour. Hence, he left no stone unturned to show the management his bowling prowess. First, he trapped Johnson Charles in front of the wicket in the 11th over and then got dangerous Nicholas Pooran and set Brendon King in the 15th over with King being his 50th Victim in the shortest format of the game to reach the milestone.
Prior to this match, India’s highest wicket-taker in the T20Is, Yuzvendra Chahal held the record for the fastest 50 wickets in T20Is in 34 matches.
The left-arm wrist spinner from Uttar Pradesh has been in terrific form with the ball in 2023, bagging 22 scalps in 11 games in ODIs, and in the ongoings series, he has already claimed 4 wickets in 2 matches.
Kuldeep will be crucial for India in the forthcoming Asia Cup (Pakistan & Sri Lanka) and the 2023 World Cup in India. His unreadable googly and leg spin will choke the best batters on the ground.
