Sir Don Bradman

Former Australian batting maestro, Sir Don Bradman leads the chart of most test centuries in the Ashes. From 1928 to 1948, he represented Australia in 37 games in the event and smacked 19 tons, scoring 5028 runs at a staggering average of 89.28. In the 1930 Ashes, the legend stunned everyone with his batting prowess, hitting 4 hundred which is the joint most by a batsman in an Ashes series. 

Steve Smith

The modern-day batting great, Australian top-order batter steve smith finds himself in 2nd position on the elite list of most centuries in the Ashes. Having played 36 games, Smith scored 12 centuries and equaled English legend Jack Hobb’s century tally with the spectacular 110 at Lord’s in the 2023 Ashes. At a captivating average of 55.79, the New South Wales born has racked up 3292 runs. He is the one who could go close or break Sir Don’s feat of most Ashes tons. 

Jack Hobbs

The 2nd highest run-getter in the history of Ashes, English batsman Jack Hobbs got 12 centuries, which is the 3rd most in Ashes history. In an extensive Ashes career of 41 matches, the prolific personality amassed 3636 runs, averaging an impressive 54.26. Hobbs is the only batter from England to have 10 or more centuries in the competition. 

Steve Waugh 

Ex-Aussie skipper Steve Waugh was instrumental in Australia’s win with his batting exploits. At a phenomenal average of 58.75, Waugh aggregated 3173 runs in 45 games, including 10 centuries. His tally of runs also consisted of 14 fifties. The reliable middle-order batter played a sensational knock of 177^ in the 1989 edition of the Ashes which remained his best score in the tournament.
