Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has scored the most test runs against India. Between 1996 to 2012, the right-hand veteran batter played 29 tests and amassed 2555 runs at a healthy average of 54.36. Ponting struck eight 100s and twelve fifties in his outing against India, including his career-best of 257 off 458 balls in Melbourne in 2003.
Alastair Cook
The highest run scorer for England in the test, Alastair Cook finds himself in the 3rd position on this list of most test runs against India. Having played 30 tests, the English stalwart accumulated 2431 runs at a decent average of 47.66. Cook also registered his highest test score of 294 against India in 2011 in Birmingham. From 1966 to 1983, Lloyd made 28 appearances against them and notched up 2344 runs at a high average of 58.60. Lloyd’s 2344 runs against India are his highest against a nation in test cricket.
Javed Miandad
Former Pakistani batsman Javed Miandad would be delighted to see his name on the premium list for the most test runs against India list with 2228 runs in 28 matches. Batting on his own tune, Miandad possessed an impressive average of 67.51 against his arch-rival. The best Pakistani batsman of all time hit 14 test fifties which is the most by any player against India. The ace batter aggregated an unbeaten 280 off 460 balls against his neighbor in 1983 in Sind, which is his highest test score.
