Shubman Gill scores his maiden T20 Ton

Shubman Gill, playing for Punjab in the first quarterfinal of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Karnataka smashed his first T20 century. The budding superstar scored 126 runs in just 55 balls and powered his team to a mighty total of 225 runs in the first innings.

This magnificent inning from the youngster consisted of 11 fours and 9 sixes and was paced at a strike rate of 229.09. Gill also proved to be lucky when Luvnith Sisodia, playing for the opposition dropped an easy catch on a mishit off his bat when he had scored only 1 run. 

Punjab has appeared in the finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy a total of 4 times but is yet to clinch its maiden title. The power packed performance by Gill has cleared a spot for the team in the semifinals with Punjab defeating Karnataka by 9 runs and if his form continues, he can prove to be the force behind Punjab winning the title for the very first time.
