- 2025-26: Jharkhand (runners-up Haryana). Ishan Kishan’s 101, only the second century in a SMAT final, powered Jharkhand to 262/3 in Pune, and Haryana were bowled out for 193.
- 2024-25: Mumbai (runners-up Madhya Pradesh). Shreyas Iyer’s Mumbai chased 175 to win by five wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on December 15, 2024, for their second title.
- 2023-24: Punjab (runners-up Baroda). Punjab won their maiden title by 20 runs in Mohali on November 6, 2023, with a hundred from Anmolpreet Singh and four wickets from Arshdeep Singh.

About the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is India’s premier domestic T20 competition, named after former India batter Syed Mushtaq Ali. It is played by the same state teams that contest the Ranji Trophy and the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy. Tamil Nadu, led by Dinesh Karthik, won the first edition in 2006-07.
Because it is played shortly before the IPL auction, the tournament is a major shop window for uncapped players, and strong seasons regularly earn domestic cricketers IPL contracts. The winners now receive Rs 80 lakh and the runners-up Rs 40 lakh under the BCCI’s April 2023 prize money revision.
