  1. Brian Lara has the highest individual score in test cricket (400* off 582 balls). He set the record against England in 2004. The record is now held for 17 years.

2. Lara also has smashed 2 quadrupled centuries in first-class cricket. The first one was made in 1994 against Durham playing for Warwickshire, 501* off 427 balls. And the 2nd one is his 400* against England. He is the 2nd batsman to do so after Sir Don Bradman.

3. Lara has scored 34 test hundreds and 19 ODI hundreds.

4. In the 2011 IPL, Lara was unsold in the IPL auction. His base price was $400000.

5. Brian Lara is one of the players who has won the “BBC Overseas Sports personality the year award”. The other two players are Australian spinner Shane Warne and Caribbean all-rounder Sir Garfield Sobers.
