He created the record in the 2012 edition of the competition at the young age of 23, scoring a mind-boggling 183 off just 148 balls against the arch-rival Pakistan who set a mammoth target of 330. His magnificent innings which consisted of 22 fours and a maximum came against an experienced Pakistani bowling lineup studded with Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, and Saeed Ajmal helped India to register an excellent victory by six wickets. Younis Khan
Before Virat Kohli, one of the batting maestros of Pakistan cricket, Younis Khan’s 144 off 122 deliveries against Hong Kong in 2004 was the highest individual score in Asia Cup history. He hit 8 fours and 3 sixes to produce this fine innings, propelling Pakistan to put 343 runs on board but it was against a very ordinary bowling unit.
Mushfiqur Rahim
One of the consistent servants for Bangladesh cricket, Mushfiqur Rahim played his first continental tournament in 2008 but became the crisis man for his team in the 2018 edition of the Asia Cup when his team was down at 2 for 3. From there he played a composed and responsible knock of 144 off 150 balls to take his team to a fighting score of 261. Smashing 11 fours and 4 sixes en route. Bowlers bundled out Lanka for a mere 124 runs to respect his arduous work.
Shoaib Malik
Shoaib Malik boasts a strong reputation when it comes to the continental tournament and he features 4th in the elite tally of the highest individual score in the Asia Cup. Malik amassed the most runs in the 2004 season of the competition with 316 runs. But his best emerged against their biggest competitor India, 144 off 123 balls in Colombo which contained 18 fours and a solo six. His heroics aided Pakistan to win by a decent margin of 59 runs as Pakistan posted 300 in 50 overs.

This time Bangladesh was his prey and he assisted India in going past the target of 280 runs with a stunning 136 in 122 balls in Narayanganj. The Delhite led from the front to hand India a triumph by 6 wickets and 6 balls to spare.
