ICC ANNOUNCED ODI, T20 AND TEST TEAM OF THE DECADE- MS DHONI NAMED CAPTAIN OF T20 AND ODI TEAM OF THE DECADE

ICC (International Cricket Council) announced the ODI, T20 & Test Team of The Decade on Sunday, December 28th. In the T20 team, four Indian players got a place – MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Three Indian players have secured their place in the ODI team of the year- MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma. While In the Test team of the decade, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin have been included from India. MS Dhoni has been made captain of the ICC ODI & T20 team of the decade and Virat Kohli has been appointed as the captain of the Test team of the Decade.

ICC T20 TEAM OF THE DECADE

Along with four Indians, two Australians, one South African, two Caribbeans, one Afghan, and One Lankan has also been picked up in the team. Aussie T20 specialists Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell have scored 2149 runs and 1687 runs in the last decade with a strike rate of 154 and 157 respectively. Afghan sensation Rashid Khan was an obvious pick up as he has bagged 89 wickets in 48 matches with an average of 12.63 in the last decade.

With his outstanding variation, the leader of the Indian pace attack Bumrah has grabbed 59 wickets in 49 matches. MR.360 was an automatic choice for his extraordinary hitting ability. The two Caribbeans who almost play all the franchise league Chris Gayle and Pollard are also the part of the team for smacking the bowlers all over the park in the last decade.

Virat Kohli the chase master has scored the most number of runs in the last decade in International cricket 2928 runs in 84 matches with a magical average of 50.48.  Explosive opener Rohit Sharma has scored 4 hundred last decade and been the best opener, making runs with a commendable strike rate of 132.24.

MS Dhoni was the best lower-order batsman of the last decade, so was captain. He led India to the 2014 T20 World Cup final and 2016 T20 World Cup semi-final. The leader of the bowling attack is Lasith Malinga, who brings lots of experience to the team and deceived batsmen with his unplayable yorkers and flowers. Not to forget Lasith Maliga also took 4 wickets in 4 balls against New Zealand in 2019.

ICC ODI TEAM OF THE DECADE

All the players included in the ICC ODI Team of the Decade have been phenomenal throughout the decade. This team has the perfect combination playing with two all-rounders Shakib and the hero of 2019 ICC World Cup final Ben Stokes, the two best openers Warner and Sharma (highest run-scorer of 2019 WC 648) of the world, the robust middle-order batsmen MS Dhoni (captain ) and AB DE Villers & four best bowlers of last decade Starc (player of the 2015 world cup final), Boult, Tahir, and Malinga.

ICC TEST TEAM OF THE DECADE

ICC has made Virat Kohli the skipper of the Test team of the Decade. The openers of the side are Alastair Cook, David Warner. The top-order batsmen of the team are Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, and Kumar Sangakkara. The ICC has added only all-rounder in form of Ben Stokes. Ravi Ashwin has been given a place in the side for his incredible record in the last decade. The Pace bowling attack consisted of Dale Steyn, Jimmy Anderson, and Stuart Broad. The team seems almost unconquerable.
