India won the ICC U19 World Cup 2022 for the 5th time in history after defeating England by 4 wickets at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua on 6th February. Dinesh Bana hit the winning runs in Dhoni style, smacking a six over the long-on.

Batting first England set a decent target of 190 for the runners-up of the 2020 U19 World Cup, India. Left-arm seamer Ravi Kumar gave India a flying start with double strikes in his first two overs. For England wicket-keeper batsman, James Rew took the driver seat and scarred a gritty 116 balls 95, along with him tailender James Sales contributed with unbeaten 34 off 64 deliveries. Right-arm fast bowler, Raj Bawa kept hurting England with regular wickets, ended with 5 for 31 which is the best bowling figure by any player in the final of the U19 World Cup history and Ravi shined with 4 wickets.
In the pursuit of 190, India lost opener Raghuvanshi in the 2nd ball of Boyden. Another opener, Harnoor Singh nicked a ball behind the stumps in the 18th over. Afterward, Indian vice-captain Shaik Rasheed rescued the team with a stupendous 50 runs from 84 balls. But things were not easy for India, as right-hand fast bowler Sales struck in the 27th & 29th over, sending back two big fishes Rasheed and skipper Yash to the pavilion.
Middle-order batsman Nishant Sindhu came at No 5 and probably played the best innings of his youth career with 50* off 54 balls, hung on there till the last ball. Star bowler Raj Bawa charged the English bowlers with 35 off 54 balls.
Raj Bawa was the Man of the Match for his fifer and 35 in the match.
