Current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma chooses the five best moments of his legendary career during his cricket academy launch occasion in the USA.
Rohit Sharma is regarded as one of the best openers in the current era across all formats. He made his international debut in 2007 against Ireland in an ODI game.
Until 2013, Sharma batted in several positions for India from No 3 to 7. In 2013, Dhoni’s masterstroke to send Rohit Sharma as an opener in the 2013 Champions Trophy turned out to be a game-changer for the 36-year-old opener. Opening the batting for India, the charismatic batter has amassed over 13000 runs, including 35 tons.
When asked about the five best moments of his 16 years of an extended glorious career in his cricket academy launch event, Sharma picked-
1. 2007 T20 World Cup Victory.
2. 100 runs stand with Sachin Tendulkar in the 2008 CB series against Australia, where Sachin scored 117 and Hitman contributed with 66 runs.
3. Test debut century (177 against West Indies) in 2013.
4. Gabba test win in 2021.
5. The highest-ever individual score in ODI, 264 off 173 balls against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens.
After playing two tests and an ODI in the India tour of West Indies 2023, Rohit Sharma will be next seen in action in the forthcoming Asia Cup this August-September.
