IPL 2021 suspended after Covid-19 break out in Bio-Bubble

IPL 2021 suspended-IPL 2021 has been suspended on 4th April due to the Covid-19 breakout in the IPL Bio-Bubble. India is going through a lean phase of the Covid-19 pandemic. But amid the notorious outbreak, BCCI was conducting the money-making league. 

IPL took off on 9th April smoothly with the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite closed-door matches, the netizens were not happy with the IPL committee because a lot of people died during the IPL phase. Their point was obvious also because plenty of ambulances would go beside the stadiums towards the hospitals. Most of the people wanted it to be canceled and finally, it’s been suspended for some time. According to some sources, BCCI will complete the remainder of IPL in September probably. Till now 29 matches have been carried out. 

COVID-19 in the IPL 2021 Camps

During the IPL 2021 many players left the IPL like Andrew Tye (Rajasthan Royals), Adam Zampa, and Kane Richardson (RCB) due to the Covid-19 virus scare. The leggie of Australia, Zampa said- “ The UAE IPL was more secure but Biobubble in India is vulnerable”. Delhi Capitals spinner Ravi Ashwin withdrew from IPL as few of his family members were Covid positive. On 3rd May RCB vs KKR match got postponed because KKR’s Varun Chakrabarty and Sandeep Warrier tested positive. Just after that Delhi leggie Amit Mishra, Hyderabad’s wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha got infected on 4th April. The Covid-19 didn’t only infect players in fact CSK coaches Laxmipathy Balaji, Mike Hussey, and one more coaching staff got ill.

Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan has the Orange after completion of the 29th match of IPL 2021. He has scored 380 runs in 8 matches with an average of 54.28 and at a strike rate of 134.27. 

Purple Cap Winner In IPL 2021

Royal Challengers Bangalore pace bowler Harshal Patel is holding the Purple cap at the moment with 17 wickets in 7 matches with an average of 15.11. His bowling average is best among bowlers who have played 7 matches. Harsha’s economy is 9.17.

Most Sixes In IPL 2021

Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul has smashed the most number of sixes (16) in 7 matches. His strike rate is 136.21.

Most Dot balls In IPL 2021

Punjab Kings’s seamer Mohammad Shami has bowled the most number of dot balls (76) in 8 matches. His economy is 8.16. He has managed to bag 8 wickets only.
