The ace batter became highest run scorer in the World Cup twice (1996 & 2003), even in India’s 2011 World Cup victory Sachin was the highest run scorer with 482 runs in 9 matches. The Little Master also hit the most centuries in this global event (6). Â
Virat kohli
The 2nd place on the list of most runs for India in World Cup is occupied by none other than Virat kohli. Playing just 3 World Cups, Virat has accumulated 1030 runs in 26 matches at a dashing average of 46.81. Kohli has 6 fifties and 2 hundreds in the event.Â
Sourav Ganguly
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly finds himself in 3rd place in terms of scoring the most runs for India in the World Cup with 1006 runs in 21 matches. Dada maintained an impressive average of 55.88 and got 4 centuries in the tournament. He was instrumental to take India to the finals of the 2003 World Cup in South Africa, however lost to Australia.Â
