Former English attacking batsman Kevin Pietersen is the only English batsman to win a Man of Series award in ICC events. Kevin Pietersen got the Man of the Series award in the 2010 T20 World Cup held in West Indies. Pietersen had a great tournament with the bat. Kevin amassed 248 runs in 6 matches with an impressive average of 62 and at a strike rate of 137.77, including two 50s.Â
In the very first match against the West Indies, Pietersen made 24 off 20 balls. But unfortunately, England lost the match due to Duckworth Lewis law by 8 wickets. Kevin Pietersen notched up an unbeaten 73 off 52 balls against Pakistan in the 3rd group match of England at Bridgetown and bagged the Man of the Match award. He continued to dominate in the next match against South Africa too, whacking 53 off 33 balls at a strike rate of 160.61. Pietersen once again won the Man of the Match memento. Pietersen helped England to chase 129 runs target by smacking 42 runs off 26 balls, including three 4s & two 6s. The man with the golden form, Kevin fought hard against Australia also, adding 47 off 31 balls at a strike rate of 151.61.
From the beginning, Pietersen had scored for his team almost in every match which paved his way to winning the Man of the Series award.
