The ODI format is the most decorated format in cricket. In one-day internationals, batsmen tend to play slowly at times and fast sometimes with responsibility. It’s the demand of the team which batters try to fulfill within 50 long overs. Many outstanding batters have played in ODI cricket. Virat Kohli has the highest average in ODI (among players with 100 matches at least), while Sachin is the highest run scorer (18426) in ODIs. But in this clause, we will contemplate the batters with the fastest 1000 runs in ODI.
The swashbuckling left-hand batter Fakhar Zaman tops the chart of fastest 1000 runs in ODI. Zaman made his debut in 2017 and achieved the feat in just 18 innings in 2017 against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. The Southpaw is known for his massive hitting being an opener for Pakistan. Zaman looks promising and has so far amassed 2684 runs in 64 matches at a healthy average of 44.7.
