The Ranji Trophy is the most elite domestic tournament in India. This marquee even started its journey 90 years back in 1934. Rishabh Pant (48 balls)
Delhite wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant leads the chart of the fastest century in Ranji Trophy history. He slammed the century in a mere 48 balls en route to his dynamite 67 ball 135 against Jharkhand in the 2016 edition. His knock included 13 maximums and 8 fours. In that match, India’s current go-to wicketkeeper hit tons in both innings.
Riyan Parag (56 balls)
Assam Captain Riyan Parag hogged the timeline in the 1st round of the 2024 Ranji Trophy when he smashed a century in 56 balls against Chattishgarh, the 2nd fastest century in Ranji Trophy history. His superb outing ended at 155 runs of just 87 balls, lacing with 12 maximums and 11 fours. However, his solid efforts went in vain as no other batter from his team contributed much and they suffered a defeat against their opponent.
Naman Ojha (69 balls)
Former Indian wicket-keeper batter, Naman Ojha finds himself in 3rd place on the unique list of fastest century in Ranji Trophy. In the 2015 season against Karnataka, the Madhya Pradesh batter went all gun blazing and scored a dashing hundred, taking 69 balls only. He ended his innings at 115 runs after facing 81 balls. His record lasted only a year because Pant shattered it one year later in 2016.
Eklavya Dwivedi (72 balls)
In the 2014-15 Ranji season, Uttar Pradesh batter Eklavya Dwivedi played one of the best knocks in the history of the competition, smacking a century in only 72 balls against a strong Delhi side. Dwivedi’s ton aided UP in avoiding relegation and securing a 7-wicket victory, The classy batsman hit 15 fours and 3 sixes in his fiery show.
Rishabh Pant (82 balls)
After cementing his name on the top of the list, Rishabh Pant again whacked a hundred which is the 5th fastest in the Ranji Trophy history off just 82 balls in the same 2016-17 edition against the same opposition Jharkhand. His onslaught for the second time on the Jharkhandi bowlers saw him smoking 9 fours and 8 sixes in his incredible knock of 117 runs off 106 deliveries. It seemed like he loved the play against his under-19 skipper Ishan Kishan’s team Jharkhand.
