Kane Williamson became no 1 Test Batsman in icc, surpassed Virat and Smith

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson became no 1 Test batsman in ICC (International Cricket Council) on Friday, December 31st, he surpassed Virat Kohli and former top Test batsman to get into that position. Kane’s current rating is 890. 

Kane Williamson‘s last two Test matches were awesome. He scored 251* against West Indies and 150 runs in his last test match against Pakistan at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. 

The former no 1 Test batsman Steve Smith’s 2020 was not great in terms of batting. He has scored only 73 runs in 3 matches, while his test average is 61.33. He has really struggled in his last two test matches against India, making a one-digit score only. Currently, he is at the 3rd Position after losing 24 points (877)

Kane Williamson became no 1 Test batsman in ICC

Indian Veteran batsman Virat Kohli has remained at the no 2 spots, in the last test match he notched up 76 runs before leaving for paternity leave. 

India’s stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane has got 6th place in the latest ranking, he has gained 67 points and his current rating is 784. He scored an incredible century in the last Boxing day test match, which assisted India to win the match. 

Pat Cummins has kept his no 1 position in the Test bowling ranking. India’s speedster Bumrah has got the 9th place after his 6 wickets in his last Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
