One needs to bowl impeccably to outplay the batsmen in T20 as they tend to look for runs in every delivery. There are not many bowlers who can bowl a maiden over in the IPL as the wickets are batting friendly most of the time and once in a blue moon, you get bowling tracks. In this article, we will discuss the bowlers with the most maiden overs in IPL. 

Praveen Kumar 

Former Indian pacer Praveen Kumar has bowled the most number of maiden overs in the history of IPL. In 119 matches, Kumar has scalped 90 wickets at a bowling average of 36.12. With his unplayable swing bowling, Praveen used to trap the batsmen, having 14 maiden overs in his name in the marquee event. 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar 

Know as swing king, Bhuvneshwar Kumar finds himself in 2nd position in terms of executing the most maiden overs in the IPL history (14). Kumar is one of the most lethal bowlers with the new ball currently and is also an ace in bowling yorkers, flowers, etc. Having played 176 matches, Kumar has bagged 181 wickets so far and maintained an economy of 7.56.

Trent Boult

The spearhead of the Blackcaps bowling unit, Trent Boult stands 3rd on the elite list of most maiden overs in IPL. Boult benefitted every team he represented in the marquee event. featuring in 104 matches so far, the ace pacer has claimed 121 wickets in 389.3 overs he bowled. Among the above-mentioned overs, 11 overs have been bowled without leaking a run.

Irfan Pathan 

Left-hand all-rounder Irfan Pathan gets 4th place on the list of bowling the most maiden overs in IPL, 10 maidens. Irfan could bowl on the tight line and length and swing the ball both ways to send the batsmen to the pavilion. Irfan bagged 80 wickets in 103 matches in the Indian Premier League. 

Lasith Malinga 

The fifth place features the king of white-ball cricket, Lasith Malinga. Being the 2nd highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 171 wickets in 122 matches, Malinga bowled 8 maiden overs. His economy rate was 7.1 which is considered great.

Sandeep Sharma 

Sandeep Sharma is another swing bowler on the list who has occupied the 6th spot. Having played 127 matches, Sharma has grabbed 137 wickets, while bowling 8 maiden overs. Sharma can bat the batsmen dance in his tune with the new ball and beat them willingly.
