Rishabh Pant Became The Skipper Of Delhi Capitals for IPL 2021

Rishabh Pant Skipper Of Delhi Capitals IPL 2021-Current Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant has been appointed as Delhi’s new skipper for the IPL 2021 season. The Delhi Capital management took the bold decision as their regular captain Shreyas has been ruled out of the upcoming season of the IPL 2021 due to a displaced left shoulder, which occurred during the 1st ODI match between India vs England on 23rd March.

In the five years of his IPL career for Delhi Capitals Pant has been phenomenal so far, scoring 2079 runs in 68 IPL games with a strike-rate of 151.97. But for the first time, he is going to lead any team.

On his new responsibility, Pant has said “Delhi is where I grew up, and where my IPL journey began six years ago. To lead this team one day is a dream I’ve always harbored. And today, as that dream comes true, I feel humbled. I am truly grateful, especially to our team owners, who considered me capable enough for this role,”

Pant also became the fifth-youngest skipper in the history of IPL at the age of 23. The youngest captain to lead a franchise in IPL is Virat Kohli at the age of 18 in the first-ever edition. Virat was made the vice-captain but in the same season, he led the team in few matches in the absence of Captain Daniel Vettori. In 2013 Virat Kohli was made full-time captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
