This Women’s IPL will definitely help women’s cricket to grow and extend all over the world 

As per the reports, 16 groups, including Adani Group, Torrent Group, and Haldirams, etc placed their bid for the team but eventually, 5 groups from five different cities bagged the deal. BCCI got a huge sum of INR 4669.99 Cr for 5 teams which are way more than the amount they got for the Men’s IPL team auction in 2008. 

Gujarat Giants

Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd placed the highest bid for the Gujarat Giants, Ahmedabad-based Women IPL team of INR 1289 Cr ($158 million approx), which made them the highest bidder for any team in the auction. The name of the most expensive Women’s IPL team is Gujarat Giants.

Mumbai Indians

Mukesh Ambani-owned Indiawin Sports Pvt Ltd won the rights for the Mumbai Indians, Mumbai-based Women IPL team for a whopping amount of INR 912.9 Cr ($11 million). It was the 2nd highest bidding among 15 other bidders. The Mumbai-based franchise is named the same as their IPL team Mumbai Indians.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore men’s IPL team’s owner Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd made a successful bid for Bengaluru based Women’s IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore, grabbing the deal for INR 901 Cr ($110 million), 

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capital’s owner JSW GMR Cricket Pvt Ltd got access to the Delhi-based Women IPL Team Delhi Capitals after placing a lucrative bid of INR 810 Cr (99 million). The Delhi IPL team fans would be glad to know that Delhi capitals is the name of the Delhi-based WIPL team.

UP Warriorz

The Lucknow-based Women IPL team UP Warriorz was sold out to Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd for a handsome bid of INR 757 Cr ($93 million). Capri Global Pvt Ltd is also a partner of the Gujarat Titan team in IPL. The WIPL team of Lucknow city will be called UP Warriors.

The WPL committee has announced the conduct of an auction to make the squad for the respective teams in the first week of February where every team will get a purse of INR 12 Cr.
